I’d like to begin by giving you a few pointers on taking notes in lectures. Taking notes in lectures is a vital skill. Most important of all is that you shouldn’t try to make a note of everything you hear. A lecture is not a dictation. You have to decide what is important and what is not. Second, when you make notes, don’t write things in full form. Use abbreviations, symbols, numbers, anything to help keep pace. Also, try to be an active listener. By that, I mean you need to try and predict what the speaker is going to say. So before the lecture ask yourself what you already know about the topic, and during the lecture think about where the talk might be heading. Choose from the following choices those that can help build the information structure of the paragraph.
A、vital skill
B、not everything
C、not in full form
D、active listener
